Starting Pole Fitness

Updated: Dec 13, 2022

Pole Fitness is an amazing exercise that incorporates the whole body, building strength, endurance, flexibility and discipline.

It's also great for self-esteem, mental health & meeting new pole fitness buddies.

Many people believe that initial core strength is needed to start Pole Fitness.

However this isn't the case, our Pole Fitness Foundation Course is completely beginner friendly and we're here to get you spinning!

Pole Fitness at GFF Damian Dance Studio

starting 5th, 10th and 11th of January 2023, our course is spread out over 5 weeks, meaning you're just in time for the next one - yay!

Each class features a classic GFF warm-up, which includes some running, lunges, funky twists and stretches - #pose

We'll start with some basic climbs, spins and headstands in order to teach you proper pole forms and how to support yourself whilst on the pole.

Oh...and don't worry about falling, safety mats are available to use throughout the course.

We'll end the session with a gentle cool down, whilst we all wish we had another 20 minutes of Pole Fitness - *crying face*!

But don't worry, we'll do it all again next week and each week we'll transition into more challenging moves, diving deeper into the world of Pole Fitness and building up that core strength.

Your Pole Fitness Journey

Our instructors are here to help you create your own unique Pole Fitness journey, so don't be discouraged If you can't do any of the exercises.

  • Go at your own pace

  • Listen to your body

  • Our instructors are happy to help with whatever you need, don't be afraid to ask!

  • Everyone's here for the same reason - mix, make friends and memories :)

  • Shout for a picture - don't be shy ;)

Your Pole Fitness Wardrobe

We recommend that you wear short, stretchy clothing, as this will allow for maximum pole grip.

However, please feel free to come in what makes you feel comfortable, jogging bottoms and a T-shirt are fine too. We also ask that you don't wear socks during class as they can cause slips.

Final Tips

You're now ready to start your Pole Fitness Journey and we know you'll be amazing!

We've left a few final tips below;

Hydrate - It's extremely important to stay hydrated during class and we have water filling facilities at the studio incase you forget.

Time - Ensure you're allowing plenty of time to arrive and get warmed up with us.

No Jewellery - all hanging jewellery should be removed before class in order to prevent any injuries ( belly button bars should be removed/ covered with a plaster.)

Grip Is Key - Please do not wear any hand cream, body moisturisers, self tan or creams on the day of the class as this makes the pole slippery and dangerous.

We can't wait to see you!

Book in now and secure your spot.
